BOAFO.
Boafo in Akan (Twi) language means the helper. This is a figurative painting of a prominent contemporary artist named Amoako Boafo who has been entitled to numerous Tributes. Some call him the Leonardo Davinci of Africa, the king, the Rising star, etc. due to the consistent and timeless efforts he incorporates in his works. Not only that but his achievements and accomplishments in the art scene as well. I created this work to document, preserve and also highlight his identity as one of the most dominant and well-engaged artists in Africa and the world at large. I’ve been inspired by his story and achievements as an upcoming. He has been an inspiration to most emerging and upcoming artists, especially to me because I got to know what art means and what entails in the art journey when I was introduced to him. I call him BOAFO because he has created the grounds for us to ingress into the art world. Most of our voices have been heard and I hope mine will be heard soon.
