I’m Rare.

Silverback Gorillas are one of the rarest species on planet earth. And guess the only country you can find them in? Hey, it’s Rwanda, my country.

Ezrairan

These rarest species ‘Silverback Gorillas’, did you know they are the largest primates on earth? Gorillas are found in the greatest forests of East, Central, and Western Africa. Silverback doesn’t refer to a particular species of gorilla, but a mature male gorilla. Gorillas tend to live in families or groups led by a silverback which is distinguished by a grayish-white hairline around the back and shoulders. About 8 years of age, that’s when a male gorilla becomes an adult. At this age, they are still referred to as blackbacks, only when they become fully grown that they become silverbacks. This time is when the hair across the shoulders and down their back becomes greyish or whitish. These rarest species are classified as critically endangered due to deforestation and poaching. It is important to halt and revise the rate of deforestation with a focus on the protection and creation of habitats.
