Artist Statement.
Ogunniyi Oluwatosin merges the usage of charcoal and acrylics (Mixed media) to represent and create that black and conceptual Essence. In his works, he echoes to everyone how important our fairness attitude would go a long way if we do have not the belief of one is superior to another. Nevertheless, being real and telling his stories has been one of his favorite scenes to capture. How feminine figures were meant to be respected in our society and the black community at large.
Artist Biography.
Multidisciplinary Artist ‘Tosin Ogunniyi was born in the late ’90s in a town called Eruwa, Oyo state Nigeria. In addition, Ogunniyi Oluwatosin obtained a National Diploma (ND)in fine art from the Ibarapa Polytechnic Eruwa Oyo state Nigeria in 2016/2018 respectively. Furthermore, ‘Tosin Oguniyi is currently studying for his bachelor’s degree at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Ogunniyi Oluwatosin was raised predominantly in the company of his mother. A single mother who lost her husband in a cold hand of death at her earliest age of life made him realize how sweet and bitter the whole life’s existence is. Still, what he’s been holding onto in his subject as an artist. The collection of Tosin Ogunniyi’s works is widely by national and international collectors and shown in private galleries.
