Artist Statement.
Muhammed Tunde Ayomide is a visual artist in pursuit of amplifying the African culture through his art featuring traditional lifestyle, emotions, fashions, and storytelling. Over the years he has embarked on a goal to deepen his research in artwork and make people see art as not just a painting, but also a piece that could give comfort and stir hope in the mind of the beholder. However, being alive every day gives him the impulse that he could do more with his art on a global scale, and taking his artwork to the world is something that requires an intentional contribution of human resources and top-notch equipment which is something he looks at. Furthermore, Illustrating African culture through art to the world is a fascinating feeling that every individual needs to have.
Tunde Ayomide considers his work as a therapeutic measure that could make anywhere it is displayed natural and ornamental. For his work, he makes use of charcoal pencil and acrylic on canvas. Also, in his works, the audience is bound to always see a display of fish scales on the skin which shows his deep connection with the African culture. The fish scales signify freedom and peace, just as the sky with its blue and the bird with its wing. Steadfast movement and independence. It represents the unconsciousness of the higher self, feelings, and motives. It is a metaphor for deeper awareness and intelligence and thought processes. His goal is to become an inspiring artist to tell the story of hope to people who are going through difficulties and circumstances and see life in another dimension.
