A leader of the American civil rights movement and Economic justice. Through his famous “I have a dream speech”, he suggested that peace, equality & freedom are achievable in the world only if we live up to the moral teachings and injunctions of the Gospels.
In 1964, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for combating racial inequality through nonviolent resistance being the youngest man to receive it at the age of 35. Assassinated on the evening of April 4, 1968, standing on the balcony of his motel room in Memphis, Tennessee where he was to lead a protest march.

Activism.
“I have a dream”, he dreamt that all USA inhabitants will be judged by their personal qualities and not by their skin color. He adhered to Mahatma Gandhi’s nonviolence philosophy. Struggles to persuade the US Government to declare policy towards racial discrimination in the Southern states. Led demonstrators on a march to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington whereby he gave his famous “I have a dream” speech. On a quest for peace and justice through his Nobel lecture on December 11, 1964. Whereby he discussed what appears to him to be the most pressing problems confronting mankind today. Acknowledging all the nonviolence devotees who courageously moved against ramparts of racial injustice. Terming them as the real heroes of the struggle for freedom. And that they are noble people as to why he is accepting the Nobel peace prize.
