Artist Statement.

My work seeks to portray everyday people especially Africans in the most dignified way contrary to how they are normally portrayed in the media as poor and needy. My main style of painting is impressionism characterized by loose brushstrokes and vibrant colors with influences as diverse as Sargent and Diego Velazquez to name but a few. My chosen medium of expression is oil paints, but I also explore the liberties of acrylic paints and digital art once in a while.

My name is Ephraim Wina (Rahmi) I’m a Nairobi-based artist and my style of expression is impressionism. My main mediums of expression are oils, but I also venture into acrylics and digital art. People are my greatest inspiration as they make up most of my work.
