Artist Statement.

CHAOS AND TRANSFORMATION.

Imagine stepping into an art gallery, drawn in by a collection of captivating paintings. As you approach one particular piece, you’re greeted by a mesmerizing chaos of fluid, spontaneous dripped colors. The closer you get, the more you become immersed in the intricate patterns and abstract swirls. But then, as you take a step back, an astonishing transformation unfolds before your eyes. Suddenly, the abstract chaos resolves itself into recognizable subjects – faces and figures emerge from the seemingly random splatters of paint. This is the world of Semblance realism, a remarkable painting style that challenges the boundaries of perception. Emmanuel Anaiye Ifebunmi. The artist behind this technique possesses a keen understanding of the interplay between illusion and reality. Emmanuel skillfully manipulates dripped colors to create an optical illusion that reveals itself from a distance.

The concept of Semblance realism is a tantalizing exploration of how our eyes and minds can deceive us. From up close, the paintings appear to be nothing more than a delightful chaos of colors, each drop seemingly landing at random. But step back, and a hidden dimension unfolds, transforming the chaos into a harmonious composition of subjects. It’s no wonder that a collector once drew parallels between the artist and the legendary Jackson Pollock. Pollock, renowned for his abstract expressionism and his revolutionary “drip painting” technique, similarly blurred the lines between chaos and order. The comparison pays homage to the artist’s ability to harness the power of dripped colors, evoking the spirit of Pollock’s artistic rebellion.

Semblance realism invites us to question the nature of appearances. It challenges our preconceived notions and forces us to reconsider the reality that lies beneath the surface. In a world where first impressions can often be deceiving, these paintings remind us to look closer, to delve beyond the superficial and uncover the hidden truths that reside within. So, as you stand in front of a Semblance realism masterpiece, take a moment to appreciate the mastery of the artist’s technique. Let your gaze shift between the chaos and the subjects, reveling in the dance between illusion and reality. Allow yourself to be captivated by the enchanting transformation that occurs when we embrace the artistry of Semblance realism – a style that challenges us to see the world with fresh eyes.
