LUST SERIES.
This painting series is a sub-theme under the colors of Emotion. A series aimed at exploring different emotions using color and imagery. Lust will explore the sexual emotions and expressions of human psychology. It will involve the use of “teaser” images to provoke the mind of the viewer.

Size: 60cm by 80cmThe painting involves a woman arching her body on her bed while undressing with her legs apart. No privates are visible, this is to tease the viewer to imagine the rest. The subject displays sexual Power and at the same time, the power a woman holds with her body.

The painting involves a male character sited as he fades into his fantasy world. The gaze in his eyes is of anticipation for what to happen next in his “fantasy.” The painting also involves an element of staging where we focus on the gaze of the character and his posture.

The painting depicts a lady sited on her bed, in her bedroom. The colors are split into different sections as a principle of” staging” (adapted from animation). The strongest color is emerald green which makes the viewer concentrate on the act of the character undressing and also the emotion on her face.

Biography.
Victoria Thuo alias Blaine 29 is a professional painter based in Nairobi. Her fields are painting Murals and graffiti whereby her artistic journey started at the tender age of 11 when she created cartoons using crayons, watercolors, and colored pencils. Her interest in art grew tremendously from there. With great support from her mom and siblings, she managed to push it and studied at Kenyatta university for a Diploma and a degree in Fine art and Design. In 2014, Blaine managed to practice it professionally and through that with the help of great mentors along the way. i.e., Patrick Mukabi. Blaine’s work vastly explores colors and human psychology and mainly involves emotions. She has managed to take part in different exhibitions and also mural projects.
So far Blaine has showcased her work in different galleries both locally and internationally. Her style has grown vastly as well throughout the years. It started as cubism which later developed into a more detailed form of abstract expressionism, pop art with a touch of both Impressionism and expressionism. Her style has no name yet since it’s unique to her creation. Her work has also managed to appear as a set design for different adverts like ‘Always ultra and KCB go ahead.’ Through art, she managed to open a merch shop, called Twentyn9 merch, whereby she sells different artsy products based on her artworks, including apparel, Badges, fridge magnets, stickers, and more.
